2009 onwards, across fields of composition, popular music, sound, and performance. From songwriting and electronic music production to experimental, fringe and underground musics and live art, Lisa has extensive experience in teaching creative practice tools and methods for developing musicians and artists. With young people in a variety of contexts - in community settings, further and higher education - she has worked in the UK and internationally with institutions including The University of Bergen, Umeå Academy of Fine Arts, Goldsmiths University of London, London College of Communication, Edinburgh College of Art, and Leeds Conservatoire; and with music organisations and charities including The Albany Deptford, Roundhouse Camden, School Ground Sounds Brixton, Music for Youth, and The Creative Society.

A series of public workshops exploring composition and improvisation with playback media, with groups of around 16 people. They focused on empowering musicians without traditional training to create experimental music and song.

“Back-to-front space” with Melanie Jackson
Th artists collaboratively explored creating sound works using field recordings and found sounds, inviting the public to join them in DIY experiments and improvisations, providing the opportunity to develop ideas in a collaborative context, improvise, have hands on equipment demos, and more.
The Sound Surgery offered constructive and supportive feedback for artists and composers at any stage in their practice, working in experimental music or sound but without regular access to feedback and dialogue on their work.

Lisa studied her Doctorate with Dr Dai Griffiths and Dr Clair Chinnery across the departments of Music and Fine Art at Oxford Brookes (2010), and her Masters in Electroacoustic Composition at the University of Huddersfield with Professor Monty Adkins (2005), where she also won the postgraduate Music Technology Prize.
