Inspired by the Margaret Atwood text of the same name. Interested in the potential of imagined sound. The absurdity and impossibility of the performance instructions were first ’realised’ live with props including a mic and amp, a ten pound note, a pen, a battery powered record player and selection of 7” records, and a bag of marshmallows. The later fixed composition attempted to make audible the instructions and situations the score raises, not as a literal ‘sounding’ but rather an abstract haunted collage.
